The series is generally used in fields such as air conditioning, water supply equipment, etc. Enclosures include a standard type for indoor applications away from moisture; drip proof (JIS C0920) which can tolerate water drip in indoor or outdoor applications; and splash proof (JIS C0920) which has a sealed construction that can tolerate hosing or salt laden atmospheres.
